Researchers' Night in Hungary 2019

On 27 September 2019, as part of this year’s European Researchers’ Night, our institutiton organised a series of lectures entitled Current Issues in International Relations, with AJKC researchers covering a wide range of topics involving foreign and security policy issues.

The opening lecture delivered by Tamás Péter Baranyi revolved around the evolution of the transatlantic alliance and its contemporary challenges, and was followed by Zsolt Csepregi’s presentation entitled How Did the Geopolitical Environment Create the Israelis?

Péter Dobrowiecki elaborated on the latest challenges of Polish foreign policy, while Ádám Éva focused in his lecture on the role of political Islam in the post-Arab Spring era.

These were followed by Tamás Kozma’s lecture on the challenges of the Turkmen natural gas sector and its geopolitical implications, Zsombor Szabolcs Pál’s presentation on the drug trafficking networks in Latin America, and Bianka Restás’s evaluation of the Conte government’s immigration policies.

The closing lecture was delivered by Péter Stepper, whose presentation revolved around the latest and most important developments regarding the Visegrad Group.
