Are you interested in the latest trends, news, and analyses in the fields of international relations, as well as political and social sciences?

Join the Knowledge Centre as an intern to organise programmes and get a glimpse into the activities of AJKC's international relations departments!

Application period for the Spring 2020 Internship Program: February 3, 2020 – February 23, 2020

The internship takes place in that international department where the trainee gets admitted.

We accept interns for a maximum of 6 weeks, 20 hours per week, between October and December in the fall, and between March and May during the spring semester.

A valid application includes the following:

  1. CV
  2. a cover letter, in which you explain which Department you would like to join from the current opportunities (you can mark more)
  3. a professional publication (e.g. article, study, university submission)
  4. a letter of recommendation from a tutor is an advantage during the application process

Tasks to expect:

  • taking part in the organisation of our professional programmes (keeping in contact with speakers, writing summaries, preparing materials, etc.),
  • assisting the preparation process of AJKC research blog and In Focus articles, opportunity to publish own articles on the above-mentioned surfaces,
  • taking part in conferences and events by partner institutions; keeping contact with international institutions

What we offer:

  • an opportunity to research and publish articles,
  • a glimpse into the complex process of event organising, as well as the different work phases of projects from preparation to realisation, thereby making sure that you gain valuable experience in organisation,
  • an opportunity to work as an intern in a field that collide with your interest – through providing tasks that contribute to your professional development, we encourage the emergence of creative ideas,
  • an opportunity to gain scholarship or earn a position through our widespread network of foreign policy and diplomatic institutions and organisations home and abroad,
  • following the 6-week internship program, and by mutual agreement, outstanding trainees are offered the opportunity to participate in a paid traineeship.

What we except:

  • minimum four semesters completed,
  • at least intermediate English exam.

From the autumn of 2014, we are expecting hungarian and foreign students from abroad to join our Internship Program. Besides promoting professional development, our goal is to strengthen relations between Hungarians living abroad and Hungary. Foreign students must apply through a sending institution, which may also contribute to the international cooperation profile of the Knowledge Centre.
