In recent decades, security and our perception of security have undergone a fundamental transformation, and, as a result, security issues have become the focus of public attention. As critical sectors and infrastructures are increasingly dependent on digital technologies, this holds especially true for cyberspace.  

The discussion will focus on major cybersecurity issues, and on the related challenges society is increasingly facing, especially during the current pandemic. Topics like information security, cybercrime, and cyber warfare, as well as topics connected to information technology research will be touched upon. Thoroughly reflecting on current pandemic-related issues, the event will furthermore examine how processes in cyberspace can influence society’s attitudes towards the virus.

Our guest Dr Csaba Krasznay:

  • Associate Professor, Director of Cybersecurity Research Institute at National University of Public Service, 
  • Graduated as an electrical engineer, received his Ph.D. in military-technical sciences, his research focuses on cyber warfare and cyber defense of public service information systems,
  • He describes himself as "the cyber-everything guy. Professor, researcher, mentor, entrepreneur, thought leader, speaker, and consultant of cybersecurity." (https://www.krasznay.hu/
  • In addition to research, he participates in R & D  projects. He also supports young talents in finding their place in the cybersecurity ecosystem, 
  • Besides teaching, research, and consulting activities, he also regularly appears in the media covering issues like cybersecurity, information technology, and digital transformation.
